Burroughs Home
The
Burroughs Home is a one hundred year-old Georgian Revival home located
on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River in Historic Downtown Fort Myers.
The Home is open to the public for “Living History” tours
by costumed guides, Tuesday through Friday, 11am to 3pm, on the hour,
mid-October through mid-May. Luncheons are also available. Group tours
are by appointment. The Home is available in the evenings and on weekends

Nature Center and Planetarium
The
Calusa Nature Center and planetarium is a private, not for profit, environmental
education organization located in Fort Myers, Florida. Our 105 acre site
has a museum, nature trails, planetarium, aviary, gift shop and meeting
and picnic areas. Daily educational programs allow visitors an up close
and personal view of some of our resident creatures, including snakes,
alligators and crocodiles. Various amphibians and arthropods are also
waiting for you. The museum's interpretive displays address many issues
effecting our area, from water resources to the plight of the endangered

A 2.25-mile raised boardwalk takes visitors through several distinct habitats
found within the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, including the largest remaining
stand of ancient bald cypress in North America.

the native plants and animals found here and to preserve the natural processes

Ford Winter Estates
The
winter home of Thomas A. Edison, beautifully poised along the Caloosahatchee
River, is one of the greatest historic treasures within Lee County. In
1885, Thomas Edison first visited Florida. He purchased property along
the Caloosahatchee River and built a vacation home. The vernacular structure,
completed in 1886 and dubbed "Seminole lodge" by the Edisons,
served as a winter retreat and work place for the prolific inventor until

Koreshan
State Historic Site
The
remains of an unusual pioneer settlement are preserved on the banks of
the Estero River. In 1894, a religious visionary named Cyrus Reed Teed
brought his followers from Chicago to Estero to construct a "New
Jerusalem." Teed hoped it would become a city of 10 million people
practicing the religion of Koreshanity. Minnesota

For
over ten years, The Dinner Train Theater has entertained Southwest Florida
with its renowned Murder Mysteries and has served over 150,000 dining
patrons aboard its four 1930's - 1950's vintage railroad cars. Join us
