Lover's Key State Park

Acres of nature trails and pristine beaches make Lover's Key one of Florida's best beachfront parks. Here you can canoe along mangrove lined estuaries, walk miles of secluded, white sand beaches, hike along wetland trails, and enjoy hours of nature study. Many species of waterfowl call the park home, and sightings of the endangered manatee are frequent along the shore and in the nearby waterways.

The main attraction at the park is definitely the pristine beach area. Far less crowded than many of the public beaches in Southwest Florida, the shoreline is marked by mounds of shells and deposits of driftwood. Several picnic areas are located here, providing a nice place for lunch. A concessionaire also offers snacks and other fast food items. The angler will delight in the fishing in the park, with trout, redfish, snook and tarpon being just a few of the offerings. Fishing is permitted from the beach or by boat, and a boat ramp is located within the park grounds. Canoeing on the mangrove lined tidal lagoons offers a wonderful chance for nature study, and rentals are available at the concessionaire.
